Two thoughts on this Saturday morning:
1. The continuing news coverage of the severe snow storms happening in our eastern states (and places like Texas even!), and how the Olympics just north of us in Vancouver BC have canceled today's downhill skiing runs for lack of snow. Right wing crazies like Rush Limbaugh are jumping on the snow storms like it's proof that global warming is a fantasy, even though the scientists said way back that the warming will increase the likelihood of these kinds of extreme weather occurrences. A little rant from a long time liberal.
2. The metro tunnel beating that received national news coverage following the release of a video on a local station. It's difficult to watch (I haven't watched it all the way through myself), and it has instigated some changes in the "hands off and call in help" restrictions?? for the private "security" personnel. They appear to have just stood there and watched!!?

What I want/need to do right now is go for my morning walk.
