Look at all that re bar on the left side of this photo, the steel reinforcing bars they are putting in for the future sidewalk/barriers. It makes me think about those schools in China that crumbled in the earthquake...

re bar
I got out earlier than usual today for my morning walk. Very nice, with the lower angle of the sun, and the resulting warmer colors. Less traffic too, it being a Saturday. Very nice, even though I slept only 1-2 hours. I made the mistake of not getting to bed before a "second wind" kicked in last night. Getting up at 3:30/4:30am can be a challenge sometimes, but I'm still a happy guy...
