Out walking in the dark again this morning. Maple leaves crunching underfoot, Sunday morning quiet.

Although I have many different routes for my morning walks, I end up walking along the Green River at least 3 or 4 times a week. I feel priveleged having the GR Trail so close to our house.
Even on dreary gray mornings like today, the changing Fall colors are wonderful.

I had some fun playing with my camera's auto exposure settings today. With just the slightest tilt of the camera angle, I ended up with some interesting colors.

I'm always a little surprised when so many days go by without posting an entry here. I still walk every morning, and I always have my camera with me. The only difference I can think of is the weather. Gray, rainy and windy. Not the best for shooting photos, but I did get a few nice shots when I was walking the perimeter of Southcenter the other day. Walking outside is always my preference, and I can have covered walkways part of the time. And no muzak.

I was also surprised this morning when I went to get my license renewed, and I looked at my new ID photo. First impression - turkey neck! Maybe it was there last time too, five years ago - 2005. Dad had passed away 5 months earlier.
I've always felt like I was 20 years or so younger (inside) than my real age, and I still do. But I don't look it. I was going to copy my temporary ID here, but the black and white image doesn't do me justice...

Nate had a "Wednesday Late Start" today, so I went on my first "early morning dark" walk of the season. I used the night setting for these shots.

By the time we left to get Nate to school, the fog had rolled in, and I decided to go out again.

The fog this morning was moving in and out, changing as fast as the colors do sometimes with a rising sun. I was playing with different camera settings today, and the results reminded me of using lens filters way back when.

It was a foggy morning yesterday, and my fingers were cold! It was colder this morning, but I didn't take any pictures, and my hands remained gloved.

Timing, and the angle of the early morning sun: in this first photo, these were the actual colors...

Everything changes so fast. I can take multiple photos of one view in just a few minutes, and they're all different.

I'm excited about the Fall colors, but I'm not looking forward to the cold fingers.

I went to the Picasso Exhibit at SAM with brothers Mike and Bob yesterday.
An amazing and prolific artist, the show had work that spanned his whole career of 70+ years...

I was crossing the bridge by the Community Center, heading up and over the hill for some shopping. The sun was just cresting the treeline up above, and I thought "maybe there will be some nice colors hitting the trees on the other side of the river." I curled into the Center's parking lot, and walked over to the bridge. The show was just starting, and the first shots were sort of blah. But then, as the sun rose higher...
